Hypnosis

HYPNOSIS is one of the most powerful and effective tools available to us for the exploration of the unconscious mind.

About the Unconscious Mind

It has been said that the unconscious mind remembers every event and impression held by a person for her lifetime and possibly beyond. It also holds all the keys to understanding why we are ill or traumatized and how we can heal quickly and effectively.

The job of the therapist and client together is to uncover this vital information.

Because hypnosis bypasses the defenses and rationalizations of the intellect, far faster healing can be accomplished than with talk therapy alone.

Because memories in the subconscious want to become conscious, the subconscious attracts situations with the aim of awakening us to slumbering parts of ourselves.

Repeated (often difficult) experiential patterns are the attempt by the subconscious to help us to become more aware of parts of our belief system that are not in alignment with who we truly are and what we truly want.

The subconscious does not differentiate between reality and imaginary scenes concocted by the mind. Therefore, in actual real life stressful situations, the body reacts with increased heart rate and a gush of flight or fight hormones. However, just thinking of stressful situations can have the same exact effect on the body.

Hypnosis is very effective in uncovering hidden and limiting belief systems.

Once you are again in touch with the inner self/guide, the correct, guilt free perception is easily understood. Past stressful experiences are always subconsciously accompanied by beliefs and constructs that attempt to answer the question: “Why did this happen to me?”

When we are not deeply connected to our true selves, it is likely that the interpretation of a shocking event or illness will be incorrect and guilt laden.

The hypnotic state is not extra extraordinary. It is merely a state of deep relaxation. You are never out of control, can end the session voluntarily at any time, and always able to communicate with the therapist.

My role is to guide you into the inner realms.

I induce relaxation with a guided imagery meditation. I may then suggest avenues of exploration. From this point forward, it is your subconscious (fueled by symbols, images, power figures, memories, etc.) that guides the journey. The subconscious then offers ample solutions to your problems, fears, and self-esteem issues. You find your own answers in your own time.

An example of the use of hypnosis

For example, you might be viewing a past incident while under hypnosis, and the original stress and pain response, still trapped in the body, can rise and be redirected by the therapist in a new, positive manner.

Because the unconscious mind does not differentiate between actual and imaginary, the personal power lost in the original real life situation can actually be regained using the imagination.

Most find the hypnosis experience very relaxing, and rejuvenating. It is possibly one of the most fascinating and fun journeys of self -discovery you will ever take.
