My gift is the ability to interpret the events, illnesses and traumas in your life in a way that relieves you of the heavy burden of imagining that you are deserving of punishment and guilt. The entire concept of guilt is erroneous, and I can show you why and how to relieve yourself of its destructive clutches.

My final goal in therapy is to give you the tools to be your own therapist. You are the authority you have been seeking.

The Gifts of Making Mental Shifts

James was 26 when he walked into my office. He had survived two knife fights with one scar across his throat and the other from eye to lip across his cheek, and was now dealing with a DUI. We worked together weekly for over a year. I promised him at the outset that he would eventually find the gifts in his apparently horrible circumstances.

James was suffering a lot of guilt that needed transformation. During our hypnotherapy sessions, we focused on the causes of his poor self-esteem and explored his misperceptions. James quickly began to understand how much he needed to change his perceptions about what was happening to him. He walked in the first day feeling as though his life, knife fights, injuries and DUI were all punishment for the mistakes he had made in his life. His tall, lanky frame was stooped with shame.

Eventually James began to see the many gifts that were offered in what appeared to be dreadful circumstances. Lifting James’s burden of guilt changed everything for him. Because he was wise enough to listen to the messages in his near-death events that were clearly warning him to change his ways, James started Healing Arts college, quit drinking and drugs, and began intensive martial arts training.

The re-interpretation of events enabled James to become his best self and gain confidence and a direction about which he is passionate.

Once a client changes her mind about herself and cleanses some of the guilt, change happens very quickly. This is a highly fulfilling process because small changes of mind can quickly bring increased peace in one’s psyche as well as in external circumstances.

Anita was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in March. Anita refused to consider chemotherapy or radiation therapy. We worked together from March until September. When Anita had her next PET scan in September, she was declared 100% free of cancer!

When Anita was asked about her miraculous recovery, she replied, “The mind! It’s all about the mind!”

As a young woman Anita had survived a car crash, but her spine was crushed and was told she would never walk again. As with the cancer diagnosis, Anita refused to believe that she would never walk again and began to use her time of immobility to heal herself with her mind…100% successfully!

In our sessions together, Anita and I explored her thought processes, her guilt and conflicts, searching for ways that she was against herself, putting herself down, expecting too much of herself, or treating her body unkindly. Anita had confidence that she could heal herself because of her dramatic past experiences; but, she said, the additional explorations into her psyche were invaluable.

Tom was a professional videographer who wanted to explore ways to become independent and create a more fulfilling profession. He had no idea how he would do this, but he knew that changes had to be made for the sake of his mental health.

We did a series of hypnotherapy sessions weekly for about eight months. During this time, Tom established a close relationship with a number of ‘guides’ on his journeys into the subconscious. These guides showed Tom where he was resisting change and why, and then proceeded to make numerous suggestions for new career avenues to explore. Tom was courageous enough to trust the guides and act on their advice. Today, Tom is involved in numerous exciting opportunities and is finding considerably more satisfaction in his whole life.

Science is proving that every cell in your body is listening to you. Everything you say, feel and think influences the strength of your immune system. It’s not just about the quality of your food! How you think about yourself could be more important than either kale or broccoli!

Illuminate Areas of Guilt and Conflict

Whatever challenges you are facing, I find that the quickest way into areas that need attention is via close examination of your guilt and conflicts. Both of these states indicate a situation in which part of you is fighting with another part. Obviously this self against self fatigues the psyche and the immune system, but our lives are so filled with conflicts that most of us do not realize the enormous cumulative impact these daily conflicts are actually having.

If unification of the self is our goal, then illuminating areas of guilt and conflict are the fastest means to this end. We consider it perfectly normal to be conflicted about our weight, our hair, our face, our job, what we said at dinner last night, things we have done in the past, our future. The list is very long for the average person. Each of these seemingly insignificant conflicts is an indication of a system-wide non-acceptance of the self.

Guilt is never appropriate in any form.

I will show you why this is true. I will show you how to search out hidden guilt and show you how to transform it. When guilt is eliminated, ideas of future punishment also are ended.

What if everything that happens to you is to teach you something, not to punish you?

The erroneous concept of guilt is pure bondage. I will continually offer you a guilt-free perspective on your past and present dilemmas. It is then your choice which perspective to believe and act from. It is all about how you choose to view yourself.

All power and peace come from one perspective, while pain and suffering are the effects of the other. Throughout our process of therapy, I will illustrate these two perspectives continually…you will see them side by side very clearly. This juxtaposition will allow you to easily make better choices.

I will show you how to find the hidden meaning and mine the treasures from even the most difficult circumstances. Finding meaning is critical. It is the lack of meaning that causes us so much pain when faced with confusing events. If we can illuminate the gifts of the situation, the burden of guilt and confusion is lifted and your evolution is quickened.

HOW IT WORKS

Along with regular talk therapy and hypnotherapy (if you choose), I will also be asking you certain key questions that are devised to take you deeper into yourself. These questions are essentially your homework. Each of these homework assignments will be geared toward helping you to learn how to go deeper into any question or conflict.

Becoming Your Own Therapist

You will also learn methods for exploring any situation to reveal the hidden meaning. These are the two most vital strategies for helping you to learn to be your own therapist. We begin with an overview of your life…the repeating patterns and the recurring conflicts. We then proceed by examining any major conflict or issues in your life at present. It doesn’t matter particularly which conflict you decide upon because all roads eventually lead to the same place.

We are all enormously fractured people. I am interested in getting down to fundamental seed conflicts, fears and guilt that cause all disabilities and problems. Allow me to help you learn to love and appreciate all of yourself. To borrow a religious term, the point of this Earth game is not about perfection but, rather, atonement. AT ONE MENT = loving and accepting, without judgment, ALL the parts of yourself…even the parts you do not particularly like!
